Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and provide expert ventilator management for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG sampling (from A-lines or sticks) and interpret results to guide therapy
• Administer nebulizer treatments and other respiratory therapies safely and effectively
• Assist with intubations and participate in rapid response and code events
• Assess patients continuously and document findings clearly in the EMR
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize respiratory care

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (critical care experience preferred)
• Demonstrated ventilator management and critical care assessment skills
• Comfortable performing ABGs, nebulizer treatments, and assisting with intubations and rapid responses
• Team-player attitude and ability to thrive in a busy unit
• Familiarity with unit equipment such as Servo ventilators and Puritan Bennett 840 is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Respiratory therapy fundamentals and critical care practices
• Ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Nebulizer and inhaled therapy administration
• Intubation assistance and rapid response/code participation
• Experience or familiarity with MEDITECH and common hospital EMRs
• Comfort using Servo and Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators
