Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret rhythms to identify changes in patient status
Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and timely interventions
Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Document clinical findings, interventions and patient responses accurately in the EHR
Educate patients and families about condition, treatments and discharge instructions in a compassionate manner
Escalate clinical concerns promptly to providers and participate in patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California preferred)
Telemetry nursing experience — comfortable monitoring and responding to cardiac rhythms
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills with telemetry patient population
Ability to work per-diem shifts and adapt to unit processes quickly
Good communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Skilled in IV medication administration and titration per protocol
Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making abilities
Clear, compassionate patient and family education skills
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
