Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms promptly and accurately
- Assess patients' clinical status and intervene to maintain safety and stability
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy according to orders and protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
- Escalate changes in patient condition to providers in a timely, professional manner
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Experience or comfort working on telemetry units and monitoring cardiac rhythms
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Patient assessment, including cardiac and respiratory systems
- Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
- Clear clinical documentation and handoff communication
- Team collaboration, time management, and situational awareness
