Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms closely, intervene promptly and coordinate care with the team
• Provide high-quality med/surg nursing care for neuro/ortho patients on a 25-bed unit
• Manage chest tubes safely and confidently, ensuring secure placement and proper drainage
• Administer and monitor non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips per protocol
• Care for patients on weight-based heparin drips, following dosing and monitoring guidelines
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate changes clearly during handoffs
• Operate and troubleshoot common unit equipment including Baxter IV pumps, KCI wound vacs and SCD pumps

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure required for practice in Texas)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum of 1 year RN clinical experience (per posting)
• Telemetry experience and solid med/surg competencies
• Comfort managing chest tubes, cardiac drips (non-titrated Cardizem/Amiodarone) and weight-based heparin drips
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and common bedside devices (Baxter pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps)

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
