Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for surgical patients during day assignments
• Perform thorough patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery with attention to detail
• Administer medications and support anesthesia and surgical teams as directed
• Maintain strict infection control and sterile technique in the operating room
• Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate handoffs clearly to the team
• Participate in required competency exams and skills checklists to ensure ongoing proficiency
• Support a positive patient experience by delivering compassionate, safe, and efficient care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with ability to provide license/certificate verification
• Perioperative or surgical nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP credentialing as listed in facility requirements
• Completion of required facility exams and checklists (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills, Prime Specialty Exam)
• Successful completion of required health screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB test/PPD, Varicella, Tdap
• Fit testing and minimum 10-panel drug screening required
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding and long-term assignment processes

• Perioperative nursing and surgical workflow knowledge
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and documentation expertise
• Infection prevention and sterile technique
• Ability to work smoothly with surgical teams and ancillary staff
• Comfort with competency testing and skills validation processes
• Clear, concise clinical communication and handoff skills
• Basic familiarity with perioperative equipment and OR safety protocols
