Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor progressive care/telemetry patients, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Interpret telemetry and manage bedside monitors; ensure patients are hardwired when required
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that supports quick turnover and short-stay needs
• Serve as a team player who can float to other units when needed and support staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state-appropriate) required
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (progressive care/telemetry experience preferred)
• Telemetry competency and previous PCU/step-down experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR is a plus
• Comfort with quick turnover environments and patient ratios of 1:5–1:6 (stretch)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Experience with progressive care/step-down patient populations
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiar with bedside documentation in Cerner
• Adaptable to floating and variable unit needs
