Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adults with orthopedic and neuro trauma diagnoses
• Manage complex clinical therapies including heparin drips, PCA, and blood product administration
• Perform and oversee IV therapy, IV starts, phlebotomy, PICC and central line care
• Assess and manage dysrhythmias and implement oxygen and airway protocols
• Care for patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes (Pleuravac/Emerson), surgical drains and wounds
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic using SBAR and unit standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, respiratory, pharmacy and rapid response
• Participate in unit floats, weekend rotations and emergency/storm team responses when required

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the last 5 years (hard stop)
• Epic documentation experience (required)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Comfortable with telemetry/monitoring and managing dysrhythmias
• Able to work nights and every other weekend; open to floating as needed
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

• Epic electronic charting and SBAR communication
• IV therapy, IV starts, phlebotomy and peripheral line management
• PICC and central line care
• Blood product administration and heparin drip management
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management; ACLS concepts
• Non-invasive airway management, oxygen protocols, nasal cannula and oral suctioning
• Tracheostomy care and chest tube (Pleuravac/Emerson) management
• Wound care, surgical drain management, colostomy and feeding tube care
• Orthopedic trauma and traumatic brain injury patient care
• Isolation precautions, PPE and infection control practices
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity inpatient settings
