Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care across the shift — assess, monitor, and respond to changing conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Perform trauma-informed care for patients with MST-related needs, ensuring dignity and privacy
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly in the chart
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and transitions
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and available resources

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact/eligible if applicable)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in medical-surgical, psychiatric/trauma-informed care, or MST-focused settings is a strong plus
• Comfort working overnight 12-hour shifts and managing acuity independently
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-first mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Trauma-informed care principles and sensitivity to MST-related patient needs
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and escalate concerns in a fast-paced setting
