Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation possible). Primary assignment: Night 3x12-hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with schedule determined each 4-week block; may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination based on unit needs. Rotating schedule includes weekends and variable days based on staffing priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric MedSurg oncology patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac status and manage telemetry for patients receiving chemotherapy
• Administer and safely manage IV therapies, blood products, central/PICC lines, and ports
• Interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs and respond to cardiac or respiratory changes promptly
• Support infection prevention and falls-prevention initiatives to keep patients safe
• Assist with special procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and HFNC/BiPAP management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy and social services for coordinated care
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and contribute to a smooth, accurate handoff process

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required, with experience requirements met within the last 3 years
• At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass (oncology experience preferred but not required)
• BLS certification required (BCLS acceptable)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Comfortable floating to equivalent or lower acuity MedSurg/Oncology units
• Skills in IV start, arterial/central line and PICC management, blood product administration, and chest tube assistance
• Travel experience preferred but not required; ability to adapt to rotating schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac emergency response
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABG analysis
• Chemotherapy-related patient care and symptom management
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Experience with Alaris pumps, B450 GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners and Stryker beds
• Infection prevention, falls prevention, and safe patient handling
• Airway support knowledge including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Strong clinical judgment, patient education, and interdisciplinary communication
