Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality telemetry and med-surg nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing plans and document care clearly in the chart
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfers across Mercy Main and West Campus
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical currency
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies, including immunization and health screening requirements

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability and willingness to float between Mercy Main and West Campus
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Successful license/certificate verification and required health screenings (fit test, drug screen, immunizations)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Solid med-surg nursing knowledge including medication administration and wound care
• Proficient patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Accurate electronic health record documentation and handoffs
• Effective communication and teamwork across multiple units
• Familiarity with infection prevention, safety protocols and emergency response
