Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for adult geriatric and pediatric patients on the Med-Surg unit
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement nursing plans, and document care accurately
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and per protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Support flu immunization clinics and other clinic-based activities as assigned
• Float to other departments as needed, providing competent care or task-based support
• Attend staff meetings, complete required compliance tasks, and participate in orientation when scheduled
• Maintain excellent infection control practices and adhere to staffing ratio expectations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state licensure or compact eligibility as required)
• American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• Minimum three (3) years of med-surg nursing experience
• Minimum one (1) year pediatric nursing experience
• Comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric patients
• Willingness to float across departments and provide on-call coverage when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg nursing and pediatric care skills
• Experience with adult geriatric patient needs and assessment
• Proficiency in inpatient nursing workflows and documentation
• Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate across disciplines
• Skill in medication administration, IV therapy, and basic emergency response
• Comfort with flexible scheduling, staffing ratio management, and brief assignments to clinics (e.g., flu clinics)
