Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care using critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Perform thorough patient assessment and skilled IV therapy per unit protocols
• Stabilize and respond to emergency situations while maintaining emotional composure
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe care
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and delegate appropriately to ensure smooth unit flow
• Follow facility policies, procedures and evidence-based protocols to ensure patient safety
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain a current skills checklist relevant to the position
• Participate in required non-billable orientation and comply with submission and scheduling requirements

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license — must be uploaded with profile
• Minimum 2 years current Med-Surg nursing experience
• IV therapy experience — required
• Active American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must be uploaded)
• Traveler must have own vehicle
• One supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years (required)
• Completed Medical-Surgical skills checklist (current to 1 year) included in profile
• Agency submissions must include the Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) as required by the state

Education

• BSN preferred

• Strong Med-Surg clinical knowledge and hands-on skills
• Proficient in IV therapy and patient assessment
• Ability to stabilize emergencies and prioritize interventions
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Time management, delegation and leadership on the unit
• Comfort with facility protocols, documentation standards and patient safety practices
