Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care for laboring patients and newborns in a high-volume obstetrics unit
• Manage and interpret fetal monitoring (C-EFM) to support safe labor progress and outcomes
• Assist, scrub, or circulate during cesarean sections and support postoperative recovery
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear, up-to-date patient records
• Float to Mother-Baby/Postpartum as needed and support continuity of care across units
• Perform newborn care and support lactation-friendly (Baby Friendly) practices
• Participate in unit-based teamwork, collaborating with interdisciplinary services for optimal patient outcomes
• Precept and mentor colleagues when applicable to foster a high-performing unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California) — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of relevant Labor & Delivery / Mother-Baby experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP; AWHONN Advanced is a hard stop (C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Proven skills in labor and delivery management, newborn care, and cesarean assistance (scrub/circulate)
• Comfortable floating to Postpartum/Mother-Baby units when needed
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Preceptor experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Ability to work weekends as required by contract length and unit needs

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
