Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and deliver high-quality emergency care to patients across the lifespan using the nursing process
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and their families to support recovery and follow-up
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate seamless patient care
• Respond rapidly to emergent situations, applying ACLS, PALS, and TNCC principles as needed
• Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement in the Emergency Department

Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license or willingness to obtain Oregon RN license
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC required (certifications must be obtainable)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and ability to work in fast-paced settings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — education consistent with state RN licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid command of the nursing process and emergency nursing principles
• Patient and family education best practices
• Accurate and timely patient documentation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
• Triage, rapid assessment, and critical care interventions
• Pediatric and adult resuscitation skills (PALS, ACLS)
