Location: Albany, New York

Start Date: 02-16-2026

End Date: 05-17-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with 4-10 hour shifts; on-call 8-10 shifts per month from 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons and interventional radiologists during complex cardiac and vascular procedures
Prepare the operating room table, tools, and equipment to ensure seamless surgical experiences
Maintain strict sterility and safety standards before, during, and after every procedure
Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their surgical journey
Collaborate with the circulating nurse to monitor vitals and communicate with loved ones
Document surgical details accurately in the patient's electronic health record
Perform thorough postoperative counts of needles, sponges, and instruments

Qualifications

Active RN license in New York
BLS certification required
Previous scrub nurse experience in vascular and cardiac surgery preferred
CNOR certification is a plus
Strong organization, time management, and critical-thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in CVOR scrub techniques and sterile field management
Familiarity with vascular and cardiac surgical procedures
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly in the OR
Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
