Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 05-29-2026
End Date: 08-28-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across acute inpatient units
- Assess and treat patients with diverse diagnoses including post-surgical ortho, stroke recovery, and general medical conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
- Develop individualized treatment plans that promote optimal recovery and mobility
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- Active California PT license required
- BLS certification
- Acute Inpatient PT experience is essential
- Strong clinical skills in treating orthopedic, neurological, and deconditioned patients
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in acute inpatient physical therapy interventions
- Ability to manage a varied caseload including TKA, THA, spinal surgery, and CVA patients
- Comfort working across multiple hospital units
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
