Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the dentist chairside during exams and procedures, anticipating instruments and needs
Prepare operatories and ensure instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use
Manage patient charting and documentation accurately and timely
Provide patient comfort, education, and pre/post-op instructions with professionalism
Coordinate with the team and follow facility-specific protocols to maintain efficient clinic flow
Participate in the one-week orientation and adapt to CDCR facility procedures as required

Qualifications

Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (required)
Comfortable and available for a full-time Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
CDCR orientation/experience preferred — one week of orientation is part of the assignment
Clinical dental assisting experience (preferred)
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

Chairside assisting and familiarity with common dental procedures
Infection control and instrument sterilization best practices
Accurate charting and basic patient record management
Ability to follow facility-specific policies and maintain professionalism in a secure environment
Patient education and compassionate interaction skills
