Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic and sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation
• Deliver safe patient care by applying radiation protection principles and professional judgment
• Operate and maintain mammography and CT equipment, including specimen radiography and stereotactic breast biopsy support
• Execute quality control and department quality assurance activities to ensure imaging excellence
• Assist with invasive/interventional procedures and prepare equipment and supplies as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with departmental policies
• Transfer and assess patients across the lifespan, adapting protocols for pediatric through geriatric care
• Participate in continuing education to maintain competency (including 5 mammography CEUs annually and documenting 100 mammograms/year per ACR/FDA)
• Take departmental call when scheduled and respond promptly to emergent needs
• Support inventory, ordering, and routine equipment checks to ensure operational readiness

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
• BLS certification required within 45 days of start
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modalities (mammography and CT required)
• Willingness to rotate shifts, work outside primary modality as needed, and take call
• Experience or certification in additional modalities (ARDMS, CT, MRI, NM, Interventional) is a plus

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• No specific college degree stated; ARRT/ARDMS certification(s) and modality credentials are the primary requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography techniques: screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy, specimen radiography
• CT operation and contrast administration protocols
• Radiographic examination and radiation protection best practices
• Quality assurance and quality control procedures
• Patient assessment, safe patient transfer, and age-specific imaging adjustments
• Tele-radiology transmission and sterile technique for interventional support
• Familiarity with ACR/FDA mammography compliance and documentation
