Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation oncology procedures safely and accurately as directed by the radiation oncologist
• Record and document patient treatments completely and in a timely manner
• Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication with patients, families, physicians, and the care team
• Perform ancillary duties including processing films and assisting with darkroom functions
• Answer and transfer telephone calls accurately and professionally
• Assist with patient transportation to and from the department when needed
• Restock supplies, report shortages, and help maintain a safe, clean work environment
• Adhere to regional performance expectations and maintain high standards of clinical practice

Qualifications

• Experience performing radiation therapy and radiation oncology procedures
• Strong documentation skills for patient treatment records
• Excellent communication skills when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and team members
• Comfortable assisting with film processing/darkroom functions and general departmental tasks
• Ability to assist with patient transportation and basic supply management
• Current certification or credential in radiation therapy (ARRT or equivalent) and state licensure preferred
• Ability to work Monday-Friday daytime schedule and meet performance expectations for travel assignments

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program or equivalent training

• Patient care best practices and safety protocols
• Film processing and darkroom assistance
• Supply management and maintaining a clean, safe work area
