Shift Type: Consecutive 7-day coverage weeks (rotating): Day shifts 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on campus with overnight home call after 5:00 PM during the week; Weekends are home call (on-call; may require coming in for emergent cases).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive interventional radiology care including consults, image-guided procedures, and emergent interventions
• Perform a broad range of procedures from venous access and biopsies to TIPS, trauma interventions, and DVT/PE interventions
• Manage on-call duties efficiently, triaging calls and responding to emergent cases as needed
• Document patient encounters and procedures in Cerner accurately and timely
• Collaborate with APPs, radiology colleagues, nursing, and procedural teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Participate in weekend and after-hours coverage, responding to consults and performing urgent procedures when required
• Support the growth of the IR service by contributing to clinical excellence and consistent coverage

Qualifications

• Completed Interventional Radiology fellowship (required)
• Board certification in IR preferred (if not yet boarded, fellowship completion is acceptable)
• Demonstrated experience with venous access, biopsies, TIPS, trauma IR, and DVT/PE interventions
• Comfort with hospital-based IR practice and on-call responsibilities
• Experience working collaboratively with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar EMR for documentation and ordering
• Willingness to provide consecutive week-long coverage blocks and weekend/home-call duties
• Able to perform arterial ultrasound diagnostic studies is a plus
• Credentialing materials available promptly (facility notes 45–60 day credentialing once application complete)

Education

• MD or DO (Physician)
• Completion of Interventional Radiology fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong procedural skills in image-guided interventions (angiography, CT-guided procedures, ultrasound-guided access)
• Call management and triage for emergent IR cases
• Ability to perform high-volume IR work (average ~10-15 procedures/day)
• Hospital-based care skills including consults and peri-procedural management
• Experience with angio suites and CT/US procedure rooms
• Collaborative communication with multidisciplinary teams and APPs
• Comfort with trauma and emergent intervention workflows
• Familiarity with documentation and ordering in Cerner
