Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in delivering high-quality, patient-centered treatment plans
• Provide therapeutic interventions, gait training, transfers and mobility support under PT direction
• Document patient progress and response to treatment accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, clean environment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassion and clear communication

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant in Massachusetts
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program (associate degree or equivalent)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required or obtainable upon hire
• Comfortable working a schedule that covers all days of the week as the assignment requires
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or graduation from an accredited PTA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic modalities, transfers and gait training
• Skilled in documentation practices and clinical charting
• Ability to follow PT-established plans of care and safely implement interventions
• Patient education and family coaching skills
• Time management, adaptability, and a calm approach to fast-paced care environments
