Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications accurately and ensure safe medication distribution across a 285-bed inpatient hospital
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing calculations and monitoring
• Provide pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient therapy
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, oversee compounding of sterile IVs and verify Dose Edge preparations
• Manage Pyxis checks, first-dose verifications, and emergency medication boxes to keep teams ready
• Document clinical interventions and communicate recommendations clearly to providers
• Use the Meditech EMR to review orders, reconcile medications, and support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Active license to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus
• Experience supervising technicians and compounding sterile IVs (Dose Edge familiarity preferred)
• Comfortable using Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication safety practices
• Clinical dosing expertise: vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants
• Proficiency with Dose Edge verification and sterile compounding processes
• Experience with Pyxis/automated dispensing systems and first-dose verification
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system and electronic medication administration records
• Clear communication skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration
