Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, height and weight to prepare for provider visits
• Document accurate histories, medication lists and perform medication reconciliation in Epic
• Assist providers with biopsies and minor procedures, including setting up aseptic trays
• Perform specimen collection, venipuncture and proper specimen labeling and handling
• Manage Epic in-basket, charting and telephone triage to keep patient care moving
• Coordinate care by handling prior authorizations, insurance verification and scheduling
• Make follow-up calls and provide patient education and support for genetic testing workflows
• Support clinic flow for two providers and contribute to a calm, organized patient experience

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of adult outpatient clinic experience
• BLS certification required
• Familiarity with Epic charting system required
• Experience with rooming patients, obtaining vitals and medication history
• Phlebotomy and venipuncture skills preferred
• Comfort assisting with biopsies and setting up sterile procedure trays
• Strong communication skills for telephone triage, in-basket messages and patient follow-up
• Able to float monthly to Edmonds and occasionally to Issaquah; travel experience not required
• Will accept first-time travelers

Education

• Not specified in the job posting; Medical Assistant certification or equivalent preferred

• Cancer IQ familiarity a plus for oncology genetics workflows
