Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and intervene appropriately to maintain patient safety
• Perform peripheral IV starts and dressing changes with skill and attention to detail
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
• Collaborate with RNs, unit secretaries and PCTs to support seamless patient care
• Support the charge nurse and assist with patient flow and unit needs when asked
• Maintain compliance with unit guidelines and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• BLS certification (required)
• Comfortable using Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR
• Hands-on experience with peripheral IV starts, dressing changes and standard med-surg procedures
• Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to help others proactively

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) credential (completion of practical nursing program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices
• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Familiarity with Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs and SCDs
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced unit
