Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care to promote comfort and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document per facility policy
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to RN/MD
• Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and participate in effective shift handoffs
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for residents

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) preferred
• Comfort with medication administration, patient assessment, and basic wound care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first mindset
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of medication administration and documentation best practices
• Skilled in taking and interpreting vital signs and basic assessments
• Familiarity with infection prevention and resident safety procedures
• Good charting and electronic health record (EHR) skills
• Time management, prioritization, and effective communication with staff and families
