Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and create individualized treatment plans
• Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy to incarcerated adults
• Perform crisis intervention and safety planning when immediate needs arise
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, nursing and custody staff
• Document clinical encounters, progress notes and treatment updates in a timely, compliant manner
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate community resources for continuity of care
• Ensure practice aligns with facility policies, regulatory standards and ethical guidelines

Qualifications

• Active LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) credential — California license preferred
• Clinical experience in adult mental health, behavioral health or correctional settings is highly valued
• Comfort working in a secure correctional environment and collaborating with custody staff
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention and group therapy skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding processes
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with clinical recordkeeping standards

Education

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent clinical social work degree
• Active LCSW credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of mental health assessment and diagnosis
• Skill in treatment planning and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Familiarity with crisis management and de-escalation techniques
• Understanding of correctional healthcare environment and safety protocols
• Clear communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Competence with clinical documentation and confidentiality requirements
