Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and report changes in residents physical or emotional condition to nursing staff
Support safe transfers and proper positioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
Collaborate with the care team to deliver personalized, resident-centered support
Help foster a warm, home-like environment by encouraging social and recreational activities

Qualifications

GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric setting is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living and geriatric care best practices
Skilled in taking vital signs and recognizing basic changes in condition
Infection control and safe handling techniques
Basic charting and documentation skills
Teamwork and effective communication with nursing staff and families
Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage older adults in daily routines
