Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and mobility to promote dignity and comfort
• Provide compassionate hands-on care and emotional support to geriatric patients and their families
• Monitor residents clinical status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality of service
• Follow infection control, safety and facility protocols to maintain a healthy environment
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification required
• Current state certification or eligibility to be certified in Maryland preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility policy
• Compassion, patience and prior experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and team members
• Competence in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
• Basic knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Ability to accurately document care and follow care plans
• Team-oriented mindset and dependable work ethic
