Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Support safe mobility and transfers while encouraging independence
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to clinical staff
• Document care accurately and maintain respectful, HIPAA-compliant communication
• Help create a warm, dignified environment that honors each resident's preferences

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Ability to pass facility-required background and health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude toward older adults
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling practices
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork and ability to follow care plans and supervisor instructions
