Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics during lifts
• Monitor and report changes in residents status to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and dignified living environment
• Engage residents in social and therapeutic activities to promote wellbeing
• Collaborate with nurses and families to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible per diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a GNA or nursing assistant training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and infection control
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Comfortable with charting and following care plans
• Team-oriented mindset and strong observational skills
