Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem nights, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shift / NOC)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Document care provided accurately and timely to maintain continuity
Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident independence and engagement

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass background and health screenings (TB, immunizations) per facility policy
Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, empathetic approach to elder care
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and age-related needs
Comfort with ADLs, feeding assistance, and mobility support
Clear verbal and written communication with residents and care team
Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
Team-oriented mindset and adaptability in a busy care environment
