Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per-diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to geriatric residents
Support daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
Monitor resident condition and communicate changes to nursing staff promptly
Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed while respecting resident preferences
Document care accurately and maintain resident dignity and privacy at all times
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote resident well-being

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Previous experience caring for older adults preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Clean background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care needs and common age-related conditions
Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility support
Familiarity with basic infection control and safety procedures
Good time management and documentation skills
Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans
