Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to support residents' dignity
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning to keep residents comfortable and secure
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly and clearly
• Help with meal assistance and feeding when required, respecting dietary needs and preferences
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations in accordance with facility standards
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through empathetic communication and consistent care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience providing direct care to older adults is preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to handle physical aspects of the role

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic caregiving tasks and resident safety practices
• Familiarity with ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Awareness of infection control and HIPAA principles
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with geriatric populations
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
