Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem nights (days vary), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote resident comfort and dignity
Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
Support feeding, bathing, dressing, and toileting needs while encouraging independence
Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification (or state equivalent) required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Ability to work nights and function well in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility

Education

High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and age-related needs
Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Basic charting and documentation skills; comfort with EHRs preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
Infection control and safety awareness
