Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care for older adults
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Monitor and document observations such as vital signs, behavior changes, and care provided
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff, families, and the care team about resident needs
- Follow facility policies for infection control, safety, and resident dignity
- Contribute to a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident comfort and independence
Qualifications
- State Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB test as required by the employer
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Previous experience caring for older adults or in long-term care is a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant skills and ADL support
- Familiarity with dementia and geriatric care principles
- Strong observational and documentation abilities
- Safe resident handling and fall prevention techniques
- Compassionate communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
