Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support mealtime routines and help residents with feeding as needed
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Document care provided accurately and timely according to facility protocols
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and recreational activities to boost wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (state-required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience in a long-term care or geriatric setting is a plus
• Basic clinical skills: safe transfer techniques and personal care
• Current immunizations as required by facility and successful background check
• Good communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of elder care best practices and dignity-based care
• Ability to assist with ADLs and recognize changes in resident condition
• Basic infection control and safety awareness
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and care teams
• Reliable documentation and time-management skills
