Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to elderly residents with dignity and respect
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Monitor and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or needs to nursing staff
Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Document care activities accurately and timely in resident records
Create comforting interactions that promote residents' emotional well-being and independence

Qualifications

GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
Comfortable working with geriatric populations and dementia care scenarios
Ability to pass required background checks, immunizations, and TB screening as applicable
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Knowledge & Skills

Foundational knowledge of geriatric care and age-related conditions
Skill in taking and recording vital signs and basic observations
Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
Good documentation and time-management abilities
Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation techniques for behavioral challenges
