Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming to preserve dignity and comfort
Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper techniques to prevent injury
Take and record vital signs and observe for changes in resident condition
Provide compassionate personal care and companionship to foster resident wellbeing
Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification or completion of an approved GNA program
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working with geriatric and long-term care populations
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Ability to pass a background check and required health screenings

Education

High school diploma or GED and completion of a GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and respectful elder care
Proficiency with vital signs monitoring and basic resident assessments
Safe resident handling and mobility assistance techniques
Familiarity with infection control and hygiene best practices
Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
Teamwork and effective communication with residents and staff
