Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility and feeding while promoting dignity and independence
• Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors, and changes in condition accurately
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families to ensure coordinated, person-centered care
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Support meaningful engagement by encouraging social interactions and therapeutic activities

Qualifications

• GNA certification (or equivalent) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Ability to take and document vital signs and observe care changes
• Familiarity with infection control, safety procedures, and resident rights
• Teamplayer mindset with good interpersonal and time-management skills
