Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Support mealtime assistance and ensure resident comfort during meals
Maintain accurate care documentation and follow care plans
Foster a warm, social environment by engaging residents in friendly conversation and activities
Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but eager learners encouraged
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic geriatric care practices and resident safety
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Familiarity with charting and basic documentation procedures
Able to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
Compassionate bedside manner and patience when working with older adults
