Roles & Responsibilities

Provide skilled occupational therapy assistance to patients in a skilled nursing facility setting
Implement treatment plans designed by the OTR and deliver hands-on therapy to help patients regain independence
Assist residents with activities of daily living, adaptive techniques, and therapeutic exercises
Document patient progress accurately and timely, ensuring continuity of care
Collaborate with nursing and rehab teams to coordinate care and achieve functional goals
Educate residents and families on safe strategies and equipment use to support recovery

Qualifications

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
Any experience level welcome, including new grads as noted in the order
Current, active credentialing as required by facility/state (bring verification upon hire)
Ability to work day shifts in a skilled nursing facility environment
Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of skilled nursing facility (SNF) workflow and patient population
Skilled in ADL training, transfers, and adaptive equipment recommendations
Accurate clinical documentation and charting practices
Ability to follow established treatment plans and report changes
Comfortable working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
Patient-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills
