Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Support safe environment practices including infection control and fall prevention
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Engage residents with empathy and build trusting relationships to enhance wellbeing

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Virginia
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Comfort with lifting and safe patient handling practices
• Availability to work the posted day shift and every-other-weekend rotation

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: bathing, feeding, transfers, toileting, and vital signs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy practices
• Ability to observe, report, and document changes in patient condition accurately
• Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment
