Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients including assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Support residents during meals, hygiene, and dressing while preserving dignity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and facility safety policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or equivalent) in good standing
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care preferred but not required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and the ability to pass background and health screenings
• Reliable transportation and the flexibility to work per-diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and comfort measures
• Assistance with ADLs (feeding, bathing, toileting, mobility)
• Vital signs measurement and basic charting skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Infection prevention and proper PPE use
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
