Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Perform routine patient checks including vital signs and reporting changes promptly
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use of assistive devices to prevent falls and injury
• Help create a welcoming, respectful environment for residents and their families
• Follow infection-control protocols and maintain a clean, safe workspace

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
• Active authorization to practice in New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working overnight hours and providing direct patient care
• Successful background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Vital sign collection and basic clinical observations
• Charting and documentation in accordance with facility standards
• Infection prevention, hand hygiene, and PPE best practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization during busy overnight shifts
