Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition promptly
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and patient interactions
- Follow infection control procedures and keep patient areas clean and safe
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team to coordinate care
- Support a positive, resident-centered environment by promoting independence and respect
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-required)
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfort with overnight shifts and ability to safely assist patients during the night
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care techniques and safe transfer/mobility assistance
- Vital signs monitoring and recognition of common clinical changes
- Infection prevention and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Accurate documentation and time management
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and verbal/written instructions
