Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering individualized treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and independence
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and monitor patient responses to treatments
- Document patient progress, functional outcomes, and any changes in condition in a timely and professional manner
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention strategies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain safe treatment areas and ensure equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use
Qualifications
- Current PTA license in California or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable providing hands-on patient care and lifting as required
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience in rehab or outpatient settings is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise techniques and modalities commonly used in physical therapy
- Strong patient assessment and documentation skills
- Familiarity with common rehab diagnoses and functional outcome measures
- Comfortable using electronic medical records for charting and scheduling
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask during busy shifts, and maintain attention to detail
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective patient education skills
