Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver holistic medical social services to patients and families across all ages using a compassionate approach
Assist in resolving physical, social, emotional, and environmental challenges to promote optimal health
Collaborate with healthcare teams and work independently to support discharge planning and patient care
Perform supervisory tasks when needed and engage with diverse communities effectively

Qualifications

MSW from an accredited school of Social Work
One year experience in hospital or health-care setting
State of Alaska LMSW license or eligibility
Valid Alaska State driver’s license

Education

MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school

Knowledge & Skills

Basic computer skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate at college level
Cross-cultural experience preferred, especially with Yup'ik language skills
Holistic medical social services expertise
Independent and collaborative work style
