Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols
• Assemble Neuro and Ortho instrument sets accurately and efficiently
• Sterilize and prepare surgical supplies and loaner instruments for scheduled cases
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and damage before processing
• Follow CRCST standards and unit-specific Sterile Processing procedures
• Float between assigned facilities when needed and accept float premium when applicable
• Participate in call rotation and respond within the required 30-minute window
• Maintain dependable attendance and clear communication with leadership

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required
• Hands-on experience in decontamination and assembly in Sterile Processing
• Experience supporting ortho, neuro, and general surgery instrument sets
• Ability to float between VMMC, VM Federal Way and VM Bellevue (1-3 times/week)
• Willingness to work nights and participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation
• Able to complete unit-specific Sterile Processing orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of sterilization methods, instrument processing, and infection control
• Skill assembling complex surgical trays for Neuro and Ortho procedures
• Familiarity with disinfecting common equipment and handling loaner instruments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Good time management and reliability in a fast-paced OR support environment
• Ability to follow written protocols and communicate with managers and lead techs
