Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for a variety of surgical procedures, including open heart and orthopedic surgeries
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies during operations
• Assist with patient positioning, prep, and draping to ensure safety and comfort
• Manage surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all are sterile and functioning properly
• Collaborate with the OR team to ensure smooth case flow and excellent patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotation to support emergency and after-hours surgeries

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a busy OR department
• Current BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification (or ability to obtain)
• EPIC experience is a must
• Ability to take call and work rotating weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity OR environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt to changing case load and schedules
