Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor vital signs and fetal heart rate patterns, promptly addressing any concerns
• Assist with deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing, verified via Nursys
• BLS certification required
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
• DCI/BVP certification preferred
• Previous OB experience is a plus, but new graduates may be considered
• Must successfully complete Prime Competencies Exam and Skills Checklist
• Compliance with health requirements including TB test, physical, and immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Strong foundation in obstetric care principles
• Ability to work night shifts with flexibility
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced maternity unit
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
